Red Rocks, Shopping, Out of money
We arrived in Camp Verde, AZ. just outside of Sedona about 20 minutes away. I could not get an RV site closer to Sedona because they were all full when I tried to book. However, I am now glad we did not get into Sedona because of all the traffic and people that go with that. This is a holiday weekend and the traffic will be terrible because of all the people coming for the long weekend. We are in a great park with crushed red rock gravel and a cement slab to park the truck on. As soon as we got here we had two white doves trying to build a nest under the RV king pin area. I saw them the first day and tore the nest, they had started, out and threw it on the ground. The next day which was yesterday a neighbor knocked on the door and told us the doves were trying to build back there again. He said he had to tape his up to get rid of them, when he first came. I did not want to tape that area so I went back there and sure enough mother dove was sitting on the nest and pappy dove was bring sticks to her. I almost had to pick her up and move her to get her to leave. She finally flew out as I was reaching for her. I then got some (swimming) noodles that I had stored away and place them in there so they could not get back in. I know, I know, it is sad, but think of what would have happened if I let them build there. They would have been relocated to Nevada and California and no telling what would have happened to the eggs they would have laid.
Anyway, the first day we were here I had to go get a blood test, ordered by the doctor in Atlanta. The lab was in Sedona so we decided we would get the test and then walk around Sedona for the rest of the day and get that out of the way. Well, that was a mistake on my part because after about 45 minutes on the strip Cindy had purchased one necklace for herself and then she found a turquoise watch made by Native Americans (Navajo) and she had to have it. Claims it is for her birthday day from me (oh yes I had to pay). Now when it is her birthday (October 21) I bet I will be called upon to supply more gifts for the Queen!!!
Anyway enjoy the photo of the first day below

This is a hotel in downtown that Cindy and I stayed one night in 2005
This is the mountain called Snoopy. He is laying down. I could not figure it out either when I first saw it
This is an unusual shopper. He was inside one of the store that we went into. Cindy left right away. Wished he could have in the jewelry store when that came up.

Love this bridge. It is going over Oak Creek Canyon and is on US 89A north of Sedona.
This one they call the Courthouse I believe.
I forgot what they called this one but it has something to do with a Crown I believe. It does kinda look like a Crown with jewels around it.
