Dam Tours, Dam State Lines, Dam Power

Before I got sick and had to go to the ER Cindy and I went to the Hoover Dam and took the tour of the power house.  Wanted to take the whole Dam Tour but they were filled up and they limited the visitors in the dam now after 9/11.  As a matter of fact the whole process has changed since I was out here in 1995.  They now stop and search you and your vehicle and they have changed the roads entering to the dam.  They built a new road and bridge.  Not sure if this was because of 9/11 or just to relieve traffic around the dam but it is a big bridge and it is high above the old dam road.  It was hot on this day about 107 degrees and it felt good to be down under the dam because it was cooler there than anywhere.   They have added new parking structures to accommodate all the visitors the dam is attracting now.

Above, looking down at the spillway you can see some of the vehicles parked there used by workers to get around.
