Lost Man Creek, Lady Bird Johnson and Kuchel Visitor Center

July 5, 2017, we traveled about 65 miles from the RV site and Crescent City to see the lower part of the Redwood National Park.  We went to the Lady Bird Johnson Grove which was dedicated to her in 1968 by President Richard Nixon.  It is said that Lady Bird also gave a lot of money to preserve the forest after she visited it one time.   It was very nice there and the trees were great and some of the best we saw on this trip.

We also went down Lost Man Creek and it was one of the most beautiful roads that we have been on.  It had a tree canopy covering the road as you entered the area and it was nice and shady.  Some of us sat in the car while Ashley and I explored the area and there were nice hiking trails and bridges along the way.  After the hiking we went to Kuchel Visitor Center and had refreshments and a bathroom break and bought expensive shirts and things we did not need.

On the way back we stopped at one of the sites where you are suppose to see Elk but there was only one in the field at the time and it was a doe so not to impressive.  We left and headed back to the RV.  On the way back we dropped off at one of the sites that was foggy when we were there earlier in the week.  It was Klamath River Overlook and it had some pretty views of the river coming into the Pacific Ocean.
