Salt Lake And Antelope Island on the Lake and meeting Utah Marcy.

We arrived in Salt Lake City on August 17, 2017.  We went to Salt Lake State Park and saw the massive water shoreline and salt all around the banks of the lake.

 We also went to Antelope Island which is located north east of Salt Lake City.  It is a huge island and has a lot of Buffalo and Antelope and Deer on it.  We did not see any deer but did see the buffalo and antelope.  We spent the day driving around the island looking at the views from different hilltops.  The state owns the land now but at one time it was a ranch where they raised cattle.  The causeway was rebuilt in 1983 after a flood tore it up and removed some of it.

 After visiting Antelope Island we drove to Midvale to have dinner with one of Cindy's Police buddies that moved to Utah to teach College after receiving her Doctorate.  She teaches Criminal Justice at one of the local colleges.  We had dinner at Bohemian Brewery and Grill.  We were able to sit outside and look at the canyon and the mountains.  It was a great view and the food was good as well.
Just so you know traffic in Salt Lake is as bad as Atlanta or maybe worse.

Kayaking the Snake River

On Sunday August 13, 2017 we kayaked the Snake River.  They have a public ramp set up for kayaks to enter the river and it was easy to get the kayaks into the river and out of it.  We rented Bobby and Cindy a kayak so we did not have to take the big rubber duck kayak with us.  The river was not very hard to paddle although there was some wind that came up and it effected the return trip.  We kayaked to the Perrine Bridge and watched a few jumpers parachute from the bridge.  Apparently there is always a lot of people on the river in kayaks because they have you travel as though you were in a car.  Right side going down and left side coming back up the river.  They do this so the other boats have a place to travel back and forth without running over the kayakers.  If you do not follow these rules the Sheriff's department will issue you a ticket which cost about $86 dollars.  There is also a little know law that says you must have a no...
