Stanley and Clayton, Idaho Plus Salmon River and Sawtooth Mountains

We left Cascade on August 3rd and arrived at the Torrey's RV Park.  Torrey's is between Stanley, Idaho population 62 and Clayton, Idaho, population 7.  Not a lot in either town to do except sleep, eat and raft the Salmon River.  There is one bakery in Stanley that serves good food and of course pastries.  There is a library with Wi-Fi and a gas station that has everything.  In Clayton there maybe a place to sleep and maybe a bit to eat but if you blink going through it you will miss them both.  There is another town about 36 miles from us and it was built up to be a big town with lots of shopping and groceries.  So we drove there on our second day here.  It is about the size of downtown Powder Springs. GA. or Branchville, Alabama.  There were plenty of  beer joints, two gas stations, two small grocery stores and a deer in jail and a few other things and that was about it.

The campground here is nice though.  There is plenty of grass and no dusty dirty roads around the area.  The Salmon River runs behind the RV park but it is hard to get to because of the steep banks.  There is a great place to put in or take out rafts and kayaks just a block drown from the RV park and that makes it nice to watch all those people coming down the river.

We are near the Sawtooth Mountains which is the photos that appear first.  They are closer to Stanley, Idaho and they do not have paved roads, most are Forest Roads that you need ATV to travel.  There are also photos of the Salmon River which I said runs behind our RV park and everywhere else you look around this area.
