Canyonlands and Dead Horse State Park

On August 29, 2017, we traveled to the Canyonlands National Park and also stopped at the Dead Horse State Park.  The Canyonlands National Park is broken up into three districts.  We did not have enough time to see all three today but we did the one section that is off Hwy 313.  We plan on going to another on August 31st.  These canyons are breathtaking and are so pretty.  You can see for miles looking down into the canyons.  There use to be mining operations here back in the 50's and some of the dirt roads you see in the photos are roads that they used to get the machinery into where the mines were located.  A lot of the roads are used by ATV, UTV and Jeeps now.

The elevation is around 6,000 feet so it is cooler here than in Moab where it was 95 to 100 degrees.

There a lot of photos attached to this blog.  I hope it does not cause a problem with you opening it on an Iphone or other smartphones.
