Monument Valley
We spent several days at Monument Valley looking for John Wayne's ghost but we did not find him . We came close with the ghost of the Long Ranger. You will find the evidence in the photos. We took a tour of the monuments at sunset and you will see photos in this blog or the other following this one. The valley is all that one would want it to be. It was made famous from the John Wayne and John Ford films that were made here. The more recent one is The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp and the scene where they are on this ledge overlooking the valley. These monuments are on the Navajo Reservation and controlled by them. You can also enter the Reservation and do your own tour which is a 17 mile tour around all the monuments. Is is better to tour the valley on your on but the tour offers more history of the valley. The first two photos are of the scene in Forest Gump when he decided to quit running and is going home. It is now known as Gump Hill. The third photo is the three sisters and I do not know the names of the rest just enjoy the photos.
